What is a Springform Pan and why do I need one?

Traditionally, a springform pan has been defined as a round pan, that with the aid of a clamp, has removable sides and bottom. Generally used for cheesecakes, these pans allow cakes or tortes to be easily extricated from the pan. What makes Kaiser Bakeware springform pans special?

For one thing, Kaiser invented the springform pan, the "intelligent round cake pan", and is the world's largest springform pan manufacturer. Keeping ahead of the market, Kaiser then revolutionized the springform concept by recreating the pan in a variety of shapes, sizes, and mold textures.
